Social Media Killed the Attention Economy

Attention is a commodity (just like communications channels)

If all you are getting is attention, you're losing customers.

Relationships are the new online currency.

I like this, but have to laugh at the fact that its still such a new idea in the field. Every mother knows that attention is fleeting and any benefits are short lived. It's the relationship you've built that makes the difference.
